Create your future out of what you have accomplished

Do you ever feel like you could do a better job if only you weren’t lacking a personal characteristic or skill to get the job done? Maybe your to-do list is endless and you’re simply exhausted. Tonight at the Decision Club we’re going to unpack this potential stumbling block and support you in creating positive momentum!

We can shift our thinking from feeling like we’re “lacking something” to “what we have accomplished” as the context for taking our next decision step. In their book, The Gap and the Gain, Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy suggest that instead of operating from what you’re missing, you create your future out of what you have accomplished.wanted to take and it was logical to take both but somehow she was still second guessing her decision. She knew logically taking two classes was a good idea so why couldn’t she act on it?

I coached two clients this week who were burdened by exhaustion and overwhelm in using this ‘Gap and the Gain’ technique. It brought smiles to their faces and such a sense of relief and pride.

I invite you to make a list

  1. What have I accomplished today, this week, or this month? They could be big victories or little wins. Come up with 5-10.
  2. What would I like to do next? Pick 1-3 things that you would like to accomplish as your next step(s).

We’ll be diving into this topic more deeply at tonight’s free Decision Club. If you’ve never been, YOU’RE INVITED! The Decision Club is a monthly gathering over Zoom to bring your decision questions, receive decision coaching, teaching, and mutual support.

We’re meeting tonight, Thursday, March 9th from 5:30 to 7:00 pacific time.
