3 Ways to Beat Decision Fatigue

by | Sep 30, 2025 | Decision Making

Feeling Worn Out by Life Change?

Beat decision fatigue by recognizing how life changes disrupt your routine and learning three simple resets that restore clarity and energy.

Life change hits in many forms: layoffs, parenting shifts, aging parents, medical news. It can feel like the ground is moving under your feet.

What’s constant?
Your ability to be the decision maker in your life.

The problem is, our brains are built to conserve energy. When routines shift, it takes more effort just to get through the day. That’s why decision fatigue shows up as frustration, snapping at loved ones, or feeling too overwhelmed to take the next step. It’s not a weakness, it’s normal.

Ask Yourself

  • Where in my life has routine been disrupted, and how is that draining my energy?
  • What signals (snapping at others, shutting down, overthinking) might be telling me I’m decision fatigued?
  • What’s one simple reset I can give myself today, like a nap, snack, or break, to help restore my brain?

Decision fatigue doesn’t mean you’re broken. It means you’re human.

Take care of yourself so you can take the next step forward.
